But remember, there is no such thing as spot reduction, so if you want the washboard abs your diet needs to reflect this desire and you also need to add cardio and weights to your routine. I’ve had washboard abs for months at a time throughout the years but not consistently…I’m being honest. Sure, I have incredibly toned abs & I’m strong but as soon as I let up on the eating and letting life take over, they disappear underneath some fat. I don’t have any genetic predisposition to a 6-pack so it’s related to my desire, my eating and exercise habits that I choose at that time.
