What does this MAGIC PILL Taste Like?

What if I told you that you could LOSE 5 pounds instead of gain them over the next 6 weeks?

What if I told you that while everyone else is busting their zippers, you’ll be slipping into your skinny jeans or your black slinky dress?

The MAGIC PILL is a Green Smoothie…it’s not gross but it can sure look like it. Many of my clients are scared to try it, but once they do….they are HOOKED.

Less likely to binge and reach for a second serving during the many holiday social gatherings

Gain Energy and Lose Fat

Improve Digestion & Elimination

It’s been proven that when you start your day off with a healthy meal, you’re more likely to eat well throughout the rest of the day. You are feeding your CELLS and your CRAVINGS disappear…I know….hard to believe but it’s really true. FIND out for yourself.

If there was a MAGIC PILL to POP, this would be IT.

Don’t wait until the New Year…do a little something every day and you won’t have to add losing weight (again) to your New Year’s resolution list!!

That “person” who’s “got it all together”….doesn’t.

You see, the world is full of imperfect, wonderful, messy, very-much-human beings with…

…hopes and fears and desires and neuroses, …and jobs and lives and kids and dogs or cats, …and family demands, …and toilets that need unclogging, …and lines-becoming-wrinkles, …and hangnails, …and alarms that go off too early, …and a love of chocolate-chip cookies, …and all the rest of reality.

Like you.

Like me.

Which means that Everyone is NOT okay. But it also means that Everyone is probably GOING TO BE okay.

Ladies, do you have a “THAT” woman in mind, who fits into all her clothes; rocks Lululemon leggings and skinny jeans…even after having three angelic children?

“That” woman is at your kids’ school picking up her well-groomed offspring.

She looks fabulous and together. She’s into Pilates or running or Crossfit or kale juice or something else that seems to keep her full of energy.

She’s a lawyer or a neurosurgeon or an international diplomat or perhaps a stay-at-home mother, but whatever she does, she excels at it and is fulfilled. She uses hashtags like #honored and #grateful and #blessed, and means it.

Meanwhile, you’re shoving aside banana peels and empty soda cups to make room for your kid’s dog-hair-encrusted car seat. And you’re wearing your husband’s track pant bottoms with baby spit-up on them, because they’re the only things that fit you right now.

If Only we could become “That” Woman…they’re Awesome and we’re not. Right? Wrong….

“The optical delusion of every day consciousness.” – Albert Einstein

As a Coach with Precision Nutrition, we know our clients’ secrets…

In our case, around 35,000 clients’ worth of secrets.

Now, this doesn’t mean we’re creepy peepers.

We’re discreet and committed to confidentiality. One trusted and caring coach sees one client in total confidence and privacy.

But at some point, the baggy sweat pants have to come off so we can do body measurements.

At some point, a camera captures your image, so we can observe your progress visually.

At some point, you share your cholesterol test or thyroid hormone panel with us, so we can talk about what it means.

At some point, you tell us your daily routine, so we can see how to make changes.

At some point, you tell us honestly what’s going on, so we can help you.

That’s when it gets real.

And that’s when we both learn:

Everyone is not OK.

If you don’t have the big picture, as we do, it seems like Everyone Else is doing so much better than you.

It seems like Everyone Else can handle their lives. Everyone Else quickly learns the habits we teach.

Everyone Else is losing weight or gaining muscle or getting fitter so much faster and more effortlessly than you. Everyone Else has everything you don’t.

It feels like you are the only person in the world with your problems.

But that’s not the case…..so let’s

  • stop worrying about being the only person who isn’t fit enough, smart enough, together enough, getting enough things done in a day, a good enough mom / dad / worker, whatever.
  • pursue fitness, nutrition, and health goals that are actually realistic and attainable — and feel good about what we do instead of inadequate.

There are 7 ways to start feeling more OK, right now, in your own imperfect, messy life…Today I’ll focus on Point #3

  1. Reboot Your Expectations..click here to read Point #1
  2. Find Realistic Role Models..click here to read Point #2
  3. Embrace the Struggle

It’s not going anywhere.

Grappling with pain — whether that’s actual pain and suffering, or just small daily annoyances — is part of being human.

As adults, we recognize life’s complexity and richness. Wanting to “be perfect” or “have it all” is not an adult wish. It’s a child wish: to have all the toys, all the time, even your sister’s.

Everyone has a struggle. You might just not see it.

For instance:

  • Many clients take prescription medication.
  • Of our clients taking medication, 33 percent of women and 24 percent of men take antidepressant or anti-anxiety medication.
  • 36 percent of our clients have injuries. And many struggle with chronic pain.
  • 27 percent of our female clients and 17 percent of our male clients are over 50 years old. (Even if you’re healthy, aging brings its own challenges.)

Many of these challenges are invisible.

You often can’t see pain or disability. You often can’t see psychological distress. Unless you see someone pop a pill, you don’t know what they’re taking.

Someone who looks fit may be at the end of a long and difficult journey.

  • Like the cancer survivors whom we coached through post-treatment rehab.
  • Like people who are coming back from an injury or illness.

They’re all being “good enough” — just showing up and trying their best in an imperfect situation.

Want help sorting all this out?

This is simple stuff. But it’s not necessarily easy to put into practice, especially with the consistency needed to see RESULTS.

As you’re lying down on your mat feel the sensation of being held up, carried, and supported by whatever surface you are laying on.

Surrender completely to the embrace of gravity, and let go into the mat and let it do the work. Sometimes it can feel like you’re floating, and that can be very pleasant and increase your motivation for taking up residence in your body and in the present moment.

Join me for meditation & mindfulness during Core Conditioning Tuesday’s at 9am & Saturdays at 8:45am

Surrendering your body to gravity can entrain the mind into the spirit of what you might call unconditional surrender, not to some external threats to your well-being, but to a full inhabiting of the present moment, independent of any conditions you may find yourself in. ln practicing dropping into the embrace of gravity itself, you are more motivated and more willing to drop unconditionally into the now, to bring a radical and open-hearted acceptance to whatever you find is going on in your mind or body and in your lives in any given moment on any given day. Take this time to let be and let go.

As you lie in corpse pose or whatever position is comfortable for you, give yourself over to the present moment and to the life expressing itself in you now. Open up to the richness of this moment.

Every posture has its own unique energies and challenges, and every posture is a perfect posture for meeting the present moment of wakefulness and self-compassion.

Watching your thoughts

Take a moment to dwell in the watching of your thoughts and the emotional charges that they carry, whether positive, negative, or neutral, whether relatively strong or relatively weak, featuring them center stage in the field of awareness while you let all the other aspects of the present moment received into the background.

Honor your awareness, your mindfulness. Notice what is in your mind and honor how necessary and important it is to the cultivation and deepening of awareness and non-attachment. Remind yourself that you can rest in awareness with any object of attention, the breath, various aspects of the body, with sensations and perceptions, the myriad thoughts and feelings that flux through your mind, or in a vast, boundless, choiceless, open awareness beyond all doing and just be the knowing that is awareness itself.

Drop into this moment as it is and rest in awareness, outside of time, discerning from moment to moment how things actually are.

Lying down in meditation can change your whole orientation toward the moment and the day and what is transpiring. It can slow down or stop the forward momentum of your head and all its driveness and help you to recalibrate and be more embodied in whatever you are dealing with. It can enlarge your view of your own mind and body in that moment and how you are responding to what is going on.

When lying down, such as just before falling asleep or upon waking, is a great opportunity to practice mindfulness, being in the moment, a time to discover hidden dimensions of your own life and new possibilities for learning and growing, for healing and for transformation, nested right inside the present moment. Sit back and be aware of the possibilities and insights that are much more likely to emerge when you are willing to show up and be with whatever is arising.
