Loving your questions today….”Why should I take the Busy Mama Reboot?”
Getting off Sugar is a process. Maybe you are a person that can say you will never touch sugar again and that’s it. But that’s not me and many of my clients that I chat with are like me.
For more information and tips, please check out Beneath the Sugar and Caffeine Cravings and Getting off the Sugar (May 1st, 2016).
The focus of this blog is to help you with the Die-Off.
After years of pondering recipes and being scared to make my own yogurt (you know, you invest in the ingredients and your time and the end result hits the garbage can), I have finally tweaked a recipe and I love it.
I love the taste of yogurt but stopped eating it because it bloated my belly. I am thoroughly enjoying mixing this with 1/4 cup frozen organic berries and my homemade granola or Raw Power Granola. YUMMY!!!
When you are shifting away from sugar these are a great addition to your diet. I used to eat cookie dough by the handfuls (butter, sugar, flour), but now these tasty wholefoods, raw treats do the trick!
When you desperately feel like you need a cup of tea or a cup of coffee or some sort of sugar (it doesn’t mean dipping your hand in a bag of skittles, it could, but it also means wanting bread, pasta, muffin, cookies, chocolate, sweets, alcohol, pop, juice and anything that is calling your name that has sugar in it)
What are you feeling? Are you tired, stressed, frustrated, feel like you deserve a reward, etc. Label it and own it.
Creating A Weekly Successful Family Meal Plan
I began meal planning about 7 years ago when my kids started school and then became AAA hockey players. We were now out of the house 4-5 nights per week and sometimes all weekend. I needed to be better organized and this is an amazing tool. It has saved me time and money by being organized. It’s nothing fancy, just a piece of paper but if you want to go fancy, by all means do so!!
Step 1: Write down all the activities that the children and adults have for the week.
Once upon a time I would go and buy 4 Snickers bars and eat them all at once and then I would work out on the treadmill to try and get rid of the disgust and calories that I had for myself.
Other times when my husband and children would leave the house and I would start baking cookies. I would eat the batter, then eat all of the cookies while making banana bread and then eat that too. Then I would hop on the treadmill and again run off my shame, my disgust and the calories that I had just consumed.

I love the crunch of cabbage. Even though this dish is cooked, it’s not cooked too much that the cabbage loses it’s crunch. I enjoyed this with wild caught pacific salmon & avocado.
Cabbage contains glucosinolates and these sulfur compounds help bind and eliminate toxins in your cells. They also boost glutathione which is an antioxidant liver boosting nutrient. Your liver transforms waste so that it can be eliminated. Antioxidants provide damage control.
