Sit with it & feel it in your body. Listen to your mental chatter? Are you trying to make deals with yourself? Just a little bit. No one will know. Who I am kidding, I can’t do this. Does it matter if I only have a little bit? I didn’t have any yesterday. I’ve been good. I have a headache and feel jittery – I’ll just have a bit to take the edge off. I need the caffeine to keep going. I’ll just have a small one? I really can’t live without it. I don’t want to deal with the detox symptoms. Winter detoxing is a little different than a Spring detox. At this time of year your body is craving warmth which requires eating warmer foods and we are typically hungrier. However, when we eat more, we keep our bodies in a continual digesting mode which takes energy away from detoxing and other necessary functions and makes us more vulnerable to getting sick.
So how can we make the most of detoxing in the winter cooler months?
Listen to your body and feed it when you are hungry. You decide how much food you need based on your activity level & your goals.
