Part 15– Cookie Dough in the Dark

I get it.


Sometimes it’s just too much effort to change.


Maybe you even think, who f*&$ing cares?


Honestly, I doesn’t matter who cares, only that you do.

If you don’t care, nothing will change.


I know. Because I didn’t care about myself.


I didn’t love myself enough to matter.


And deep down, what I really wanted was for someone to care about me, more than they could. It was like a drug and I needed the attention.


Don’t get me started on how I wanted “male” attention while at high school. Again trying to fulfill a need…so very sad!


And, when you are sick or addicted, you tend to get more attention than when you are healthy, vibrant and energetic. So I stayed sick and addicted.


I wanted attention. I wanted love. But it didn’t matter how much I got because I didn’t love and value myself wholly, completely and without any buts.


Until I cared about ME. Became the CEO of my health, nothing would change at the level that needed changing.




I had to step out of my “little girl” role and put my big girl pants on and that took a lot of years to first, become aware of this and then secondly, to change my thoughts, beliefs and habits.

COURAGE, that’s what I also needed.


I needed to start giving a f*&$ about me. I mattered.


And that’s when changes started to happen.


How deeply do you love yourself? What feelings come up when you look in the mirror, straight into your own eyes and say, “I love you.”


Try it out for 30 days. At first you will feel self-conscious, goofy, why am I doing this? But pay attention and see what changes. Pay attention to the voices in your head from day 1 to 30.
