Fat Loss Friday

This is an excerpt from the Busy Mama Detox, an on-line or in person program offered by me…

If you want to keep fat on your body then stay on this roller coaster……

  • Skip meals (under eat)
  • Overeat
  • Eat lots of sugar (alcohol, candy)
  • Eat lots of processed foods (cakes, cookies, muffins, breads, pasta)
  • Eat carbs in the morning

Doing these things will cause a sharp spike in your insulin levels and this SHUTS OFF your FAT BURNING potential and you enter FAT STORAGE MODE.

If you want to wave BYE BYE to FAT, and get off the roller coaster….

  • Eat your greens
  • Balance your meals and snacks with protein, healthy fats and complex carbs (vegetables)
  • Eat but don’t stuff yourself
  • Chew your food and eat slowly

Doing these things will cause your blood sugars to stay stable (the hormone glucagon is secreted) and your body enters FAT BURNING mode. The hormone glucagon moves fat from storage and therefore will be used as energy thus shrinking your fat cells. Fat from storage=burned fat=weight loss/stability.

Enjoy some healthy fat snacks like:

  • A handful of almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios etc.
  • An avocado with hemp seeds, sprouts and lemon juice.
  • A piece of dark raw chocolate
  • A handful of sunflower seeds
  • Raw treats (I’m selling them at the Green Owl…yummy)
  • …and of course…greens are on the snack menu!!
