5 years and counting – sustained my weight loss of over 70lbs and dropped 8 dress sizes.

 I am more confident, energetic and feel great.  

Much of my success is due to Tanya.  She has provided programs such as The Busy Mama Detox, Busy Mama Reboot, Busy Mama Smoothie Party, just to name a few, to help people like me to improve their fitness level and develop a healthy lifestyle.  Her commitment to her clients is commendable.

In the past, I had always been involved in fitness programs (gyms, Curves, step classes, etc.) and weight loss programs (Weight Watchers, Nutrition System, Diet Workshop, etc.).  Needless to say my weight has always been a problem and I never kept if off.

After I retired in 2002, my husband and I moved to Bobcaygeon.  Due to some life altering events, I weighed the most that I ever had in my life.  I bought a pair of jeans (size 18) and when they started to feel tight, I realized I had to do something about it.

I had little confidence in myself and felt so tired.  My sister and I stumbled upon Forbert Pool and saw that there were fitness classes being offered. We signed up! My instructor for that class was Tanya, and from that day, my life changed forever!

She gave us a workout like we had never had before.  She said to use our back muscles for this one particular exercise.  My comment was, “I have back muscles?  I didn’t know that.”  Well, the next day there were a lot of other muscles that I had not used for a while.  Although my muscles were sore, I knew that I had found the perfect fitness instructor for me.  Her workouts are terrific, working every muscle in your body. Her energy is contagious and she is the most experienced instructor & coach I had ever met.

Since being in Tanya’s classes, I have changed so many of my eating habits due to her educating us in a compassionate way about how to properly fuel our body, mind and spirit.  I no longer have margarine in my house, just butter.  I learned how to read labels and was empowered about what I wanted to put in my mouth. I began to feel the connection between eating and how I felt afterwards. I became an avid label reader and as Tanya says, “if you can’t pronounce the ingredients, why are you eating it?”

Sugar was one of my downfalls as I have an insatiable sweet tooth.  If it was the first or second ingredient on the label, that too went back on the shelf.  Let me say, I spent a lot of time in the grocery store the first little while and learned that some of the things that I was buying were not healthy choices.  You know, the fat free, low calorie junk.

Do I miss the food I used to eat?  No way!!!! Today I am very selective as to what I am buying.  Almond milk, kefir, plain yogurt, chia seeds, quinoa, maple syrup, various nuts, medjool dates and quinoa are always in my house.  I use natural ingredients as much as possible.  My shopping outings are at the Green Owl (Bobcaygeon), Joanne’s (Lindsay) and I go online to Upayanaturals for amazing nutrient dense food and supplements that I would never have found it without Tanya’s guidance.

Tanya has created some great recipes and shares them with us.  Often she has samples of her newest ones so that we can try them after class.

My favourite recipes are energy bites and chocolate macaroons.   This is also my daughter-in-law’s favourite too.  I always have them in my freezer for whenever she comes.  Two of my favourite smoothie recipes are Shamrock Mint Shake and the Willie Wonka.  I enjoy all of her salad dressings and only use those for my salads.  Her salmon recipe is excellent.

I have lost over 70 pounds since I arrived in Bobcaygeon and have kept it off for five years & counting.

I am more confident, energetic and feel great.

I know I had to take responsibility for my actions. I’m the one who made the changes but being supported, empowered and educated by Tanya has made this the most amazing journey. If you are looking for all those things, I highly recommend her.
