Love Your Gallbladder
My mum had her gallbladder out in the late 70’s, my sister had hers taken out in 2014 after a year of cleaning up her diet and lifestyle. About 750,000 people have it removed every year and whatever you choose to do is your choice. However, your gallbladder is not insignificant. While you can survive without it, once it is removed, your body must work harder to digest fats and remove cholesterol from your body.
Recently a client of mine was having gallbladder issues and a holistic practitioner recommended Chanca Piedra, which is a well known plant from the Amazon Rainforest. It supports your bladder, kidneys, gallbladder and liver health. It’s thought to promote the liver’s normal function by aiding in the detoxification process.
Juice Plus is also amazing for digestive issues as it is bio-available, it does not need to be digested. It is simply absorbed. This greatly increases the chance of getting nutrition into the system. Juice Plus+ is apart of my daily healthy living routine and you can click here to find out more about it and buy it.
The gallbladder is a small, hollow, pear shaped organ that stores and concentrates bile, an essential liquid for digestion. According to herballegacy.com, gallstones form when cholesterol and bile pigments become so concentrated that they form lumps inside the gallbladder. Usually never a problem if they remain in there, but if they block either the cystic duct or the bile duct; problems can occur.
Your gallbladder and liver work together to digest fats, therefore your liver must work harder if you are missing your gallbladder.
My client told me that taking Chanca Piedra has made a noticeable difference in the feeling she is experiencing in her gallbladder…yeah!!!
Having your gallbladder removed because of your unhealthy diet, is like removing the engine from your car because you’ve been using the wrong type of gas. Sure it’s a solution but it’s not the root problem. Also, nothing happens overnight, so we must reflect on the lifestyle choices we have made over decades and also our thoughts, emotions and beliefs affecting our lifestyle.
What to do to have & keep a healthy gallbladder
- I recommend reading The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush by Andreas Moritz
- Enjoy sour green apples or the Clean Your Colon The fiber in apples cleanses your colon
- Enjoy your detox lemonade. Fresh lemons cut the fat in half and you can feel immediate pain relief from any gallbladder symptoms
- Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables. I use Juice Plus+ to get my daily non-gmo, vine-ripened, bioavailable 40 kinds of fruits and veggies every day.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
- Consume beets, beet greens, cucumbers, celery, carrots
- Eat plenty of garlic – cleanses the liver
- Eggs in moderation
- Eliminate or reduce fatty meat intake and replace with fish and nuts and seeds
- Consume healthy fats– we need them – just choose the right kind, hint.. Omega 3’s
- Eat broccoli, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts – high in fibre which promotes regularity
- Consume Eissac Tea which contains Blessed Thistle.Blessed thistle is used for digestive problems such as gas, constipation, and upset stomach. This herb is also used to treat liver and gallbladder diseases.
These are temporary natural methods you can use to help your gallbladder. For true healing, you may need to do a gallbladder flush. These flushes may dissolve any stones you have. A few of my clients and my sister did this and had awesome results with the stones coming out….me, I tried it and no stones—nothing–I was actually looking forward to seeing something. Save yourself a trip to the hospital and be proactive with your diet! Prevention is key so start early….
Your thoughts and emotions…………..
According to Holistic Anatomy by Pip Waller, the gallbladder is like an air traffic controller, sitting in isolation and thinking carefully to make the decisions necessary to orchestrate and execute successfully the plans of the liver. The gallbladder needs purity to keep order and orderliness, to make difficult decisions and to have good judgment.
If your gallbladder is not pure or has been removed, you may be a feeble decision maker or obsessive over-planner, have poor judgment or find it difficult to make decisions. You may also be habitually late due to being unorganized.
According to You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, gallstones are formed through hard thoughts, bitterness, condemnation and/or pride. Louise suggests repeating this affirmation to ease our bitter thoughts. “There is joyous release of the past. Life is sweet, and so am I.”
Try it and see what happens. I read You Can Heal Your Life in its entirety when my mum was diagnosed with throat cancer and deathly ill after treatments. Together we worked through some of Louise’s exercises to release anger, bitterness etc…but I digress…check it out if you feel you are ready.
This is an excerpt from the Busy Mama Detox Program. This program runs 3 times per year…check out the following testimonial….
“When I started the program, I thought I ate quite well, but realized that there was a lot I was “sneaking” in that really set me back. When my 2nd child was born I suffered from postpartum depression and have been on medication ever since. For the first time in 8 years I felt I could go off this medication and I am positive it is hugely part of the BUSY MAMA DETOX. My mental state is amazing – who knew! Now, I am not at 100% where I would like to be (I ate everything in sight at Easter – what can I say my Mom is a great cook and baker!). But it certainly was easy to come home and return to my new “plan”. – BUSY MAMA of 2
