Save 50,000 Calories a Year
I’m always asked in my Nutritional Coaching & Personal Training business, does it really make a difference if I do something small. Seriously, how can 10 push-ups or ten sit-ups or five minutes of meditation or drinking an extra glass of water, or a walk around the block, going to make any difference in my life or for my health?
Well I have some surprising facts for you to reflect on.
If you were to replace a sugary soft drink with a glass of water at lunch or during your afternoon break every day for a year, you would end up drinking almost 40 gallons of water, you’d avoid consuming close to 50,000 empty calories which is the equivalent of fasting for 22 days (assuming you’re eating a 2200 calorie diet a day) and you’d save about $500 in expenses. Just from cutting one pop/soda a day.
It makes a difference.
Another great example is if you take one hour of TV watching and cut it out of your day, you will add up to 9 – 40 hours work weeks. That’s like adding an extra two months of productive time to your life every year. In 12 years that would equal having two extra years of focus time. Imagine what you could do with that extra time. So many people say to me, “I never have time to work out”,” I don’t have time to make healthy meals”, “I don’t have time to read”, “I don’t have time to do this or that do that”.
Reflect on what you’re doing and apply one simple change because it does make a difference.

So, yes, coming to one class a week, adds up to 52 workouts a year that you wouldn’t have done. Having one glass of water a day, adds up.
Surrounding yourself with health infiltrates your subconscious mind and you start to be healthier. I was a total sugar addict, a binge eater, I had chronic bronchitis for 3 decades, I was sick, I didn’t have any energy and one day, I was sick & tired of being sick & tired, so I changed one little thing at a time!!!
Every little thing you do either takes you closer to living a life full of FAB health or NOT SO FAB health…and the best part is…you have a choice!
My friend, Janet and I were discussing the effects of small changes when she was thinking of getting healthier about 4 years ago. I mentioned the power of small changes. First she started with having lemon & water in the morning- and liked how it made her feel. Then she always saw me drinking a green smoothie and would ask questions about how it tastes, how do you make it, etc. So I let her taste my smoothie and she loved it!!! Janet bought herself a Vitamix, like mine and has been having a daily green smoothie for the last 3 years.
Then she wondered what she could add next so she then started taking a class a week at Move Your Body Studio. Now sometimes two.
Recently Janet said to me that she was with all of her sisters and they had to do some manual labor – and she was rocking it! Her sisters couldn’t keep up with her and were impressed with what their sister could do and how healthy she looked!
It’s not like Janet went and ran a marathon or did anything extraordinary. She made simple changes which added up and now she is healthier, more confident and stronger!!
