Tanya’s 5 Beauty Secrets
I have searched high and low for natural beauty tips that are effective, simple and won’t break my bank account. I thought I would start by focusing on our skin, which is our largest organ and absorbs everything we put on it into our bloodstream, and hair!
Who doesn’t want thick, gorgeous hair and radiating skin? Our skin is a road map to deeper issues within us. When we have something wrong with our skin we tend to cover it up with creams, lotions, and/or makeup and clog our precious pours that are trying to breath! Instead, it is wise to take a look at the root cause and ask ourselves, “Why is my face breaking out” “Why am I aging so quickly” “Why does my hair look so dull and keep splitting”. I want to keep this as simple as possible but I always love knowing the “WHY” which helps me to make changes a lifelong habit instead of a one week trick!
Here are 5 of my many secrets….
- Lemon and water every morning (sometimes I add a sprinkle of cayenne!)
- Nutrition aka Juicing
- Dry Brushing
- Coconut oil
- Ho Shou Wu
BEAUTY TIP #1 LEMONS or Limes!!!
Can you say CLEANSING!!!
Start your day off with this incredible cleansing and mucous dissolving drink that will have your cells jumping for JOY. Your other “morning choice” may be depleting essential nutrients from your cells, exhausting your adrenals and irritating or thickening your skin and other organs.1
Not ready to give up your morning java? Just have water and lemon while it’s brewing!
BEAUTY TIP #2 Juicing
You have finished your lemon and water and are ready for more!!Would you rather sit down and eat a pound of vegetables (green is the colour of choice), chewing, chewing & still more chewing into very small pieces for high absorption, or juice and sip?
Juicing allows all the nutrients to quickly enter into your cells doing a happy dance while spreading vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, chlorophyll, enzymes and antioxidants EVERYWHERE without the energy of digestion.
Beauty starts from the INSIDE!! Vegetables and fruits are nature’s gifts to healing and repairing our body…and….juicing happens to be the best and fastest way to do it. So, hydrate your body, and allow your cells to soak up all the life-giving nutrients. This provides you with radiating skin, anti-aging arsenal, clear eyes and boundless energy. Let’s not forget strong nails, white & strong teeth and gums, and thick hair.

Basic Beauty Juice
½ – 1 cucumber
2-4 stalks of celery
½ – 1 peeled lemon (if organic use half with the peel on)
Wash and then put through your juicer!! I love my Omega 8006 and for a quick juice the Jack Lalanne juicer
Ingredients from Basic Beauty Juice,
Plus 1-2 handfuls of a dark leafy green (kale, swiss chard, lettuce)
Small handful of parsley or cilantro
Wash and then put through your juicer!!

BEAUTY TIP #3 Dry Brushing
Whether you use a natural bristle brush, a dry brushing mitt, a cheap loofah glove (I’ve tried them all and have finally found the VERY BEST from Living Libations which all my clients love as well), give your body a scrub and
- Loosen the dead cells to allow the toxins a quick and clear exit out of your skin!
- Leave your skin SOFT and GLOWING
- Reduce CELLULITE,

BEAUTY TIP #4 Coconut Oil
I used to suffocate my skin with creams that promised “no wrinkles” and spend a tiny fortune trying this and that. Slowly but surely I started to read labels and realized that what we put on our skin enters our blood stream and heads towards our cells and hangs out there…..creating toxic waste…YIKES! So, if I couldn’t eat the creams, lotions, serums I had in my beauty case, out they went. This led me to use coconut oil and aloe vera right from the plant. Both of these choices I can eat so no more chemicals being dumped into my cells.
Coconut oil contains pregnenolone (an antioxidant) which improves circulation in the skin, gives the face a lift, restores sagging skin and reduces bags under the eyes…don’t everyone run out at once!!! 2

BEAUTY TIP #5 Whole Food Nutrition
If your hair is brittle and going grayer by the minute, your diet may be lacking specific minerals! No amount of hair product is going to change this problem…it may cover it up but your graying, brittle, lifeless hair will still be there! BOO HOO!
