Hemp Kale Salad

This is one of my favourite salads (quantities adapted slightly) from Leanne Vogel’s e-book The Keto Beginning: Complete Guide +30-day Meal Plan.

I picked up her e-book and have been loving a lot of her recipes. I also based many of the “fat snacks” that I offered in my Gain Energy Lose Fat sessions from her book.

I use this dressing on many of my other salads now instead of using maple syrup based dressing…I’m loving the new flavours. Continue reading »

Taco Salad

This is one of my kid’s favourite meals. They get a ton of greens, a great source of protein and some healthy fats.  I usually make about triple this recipe and freeze it. This is definitely a quick and easy dinner meal and they also like taking it for lunch.


Taco seasoning

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp oregano, dried

½ tsp paprika

1 ½ tsp ground cumin

½ tsp salt and pepper

pinch cayenne

(mix the above ingredients together and will keep in air tight container for 3 months. Can double/triple the recipe so that you have some ready for next time)

Youth Regeneration Salad



The weeks and days of holiday eating are now in full swing. I know it’s fun to be in “Holiday mode” and a social bunny, perhaps nibbling on things other than the colour green – but let’s squeeze this beautiful salad into your day and your waistline will thank you!!!  I know that you want to be leaner, cleaner, healthier so make Greens part of your day!!

Youth Renegeration Salad


(use organic ingredients when available)

½ cup baby romaine or spinach

1 medium zucchini, peeled into ribbons with a vegetable peeler

1 large carrot, peeled into ribbons with a vegetable peeler

½ cup mung bean sprouts

½ cup other sprouts (optional)

½ an avocado

Place all ingredients except avocado in a bowl and then mix in dressing.  Garnish with the chopped avocado!!



In your vitamix or blender, mix together and then pour over your base!

2-3 tomatoes

5 sundried tomatoes- soak in water if they aren’t already soaked in water or olive oil – I like Silver Leaf brand

1 tbsp dried or fresh oregano

¼ c parsley or basil

1 tbsp fresh rosemary

1 tbsp ginger root

2 cloves of garlic

1 tsp Nama Shoyu or Tamari

1 tsp Himalayan sea salt

Stevia to taste if you would like to sweeten it

Lentil Spread

· 2 tbsp raw walnuts (soaked and dehydrated if you want to break down the enzymes for easier digestion)

· 1 cup Puy lentils, cooked

· ¼ cup onion (white, red, green- your choice)

· 2 cloves garlic

· 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

· 1-2 tbsp avocado oil or walnut oil or olive oil (start with 1 and add more if necessary)

· 1 tbsp Tamari (soy sauce but not the stuff you buy at your local grocery store!, Get Tamari from your health food store or Upayanaturals)

· 1 tbsp ground flax seeds

· 2 tbsp yellow pepper

Put all ingredients in your Vitamix or food processor and mix until the consistency that you desire! (free shipping code 06-005828)

Enjoy with vegetables or as a spread on a sandwich or wrap! Delicious!!!

Best Ever Coleslaw in the Raw

Raw Raw for Cabbage Salad!

So easy, so fast, so delicious!

· chop up raw cabbage (1/4 cabbage),an apple and 2 stalks celery

· Add soaked raisins or cranberries, walnuts (or not), hemp seeds (or not).

· Mix 3 tbsp mayo, 3tspb organic yogurt, 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon, 1 tsp dijon, 1tsp local honey

· Add to cabbage mixture and ENJOY.
