Want something refreshing?


I was just chatting with a client of mine this morning who used to love drinking her breakfast smoothies, and then stopped.


WHY? Life changed and her healthy smoothie morning habit changed too.


I had been describing my delicious smoothies I had been making over the last month during our sessions…like this one, Matcha Green Tea Smoothie with lime juice, spinach, Matcha Green Tea Powder and how refreshing it was in this summer heat.


This morning she says to be – “you’ve inspired me to bring my smoothies back into my mornings after listening to you. I’ve had it for 3 days and feel amazing.” She had been eating gluten free toast for breakfast but in just 3 days of drinking smoothies has noticed an increase in energy from drinking her smoothies because she is eating whole food nutrition.


I know that it’s easy for our healthy habits to change when routines change – like the kids are home for the summer or the grandkids are here, or the endless stream of company – all the fun that summer brings. My routine has shifted too and so have some of my habits.


But I find that starting my day in the healthiest way possible sets me up for the entire day – at least I know that I will have a base of nutrition that day, I know that I have infused my cells with loads of greens and goodness. I know that it gives me energy, keeps my moods stable and feeds my body what it really needs. It’s also the one meal I have the most control over because as the day goes on, it gets a little more hectic and nutrition can take a back seat.


Matcha Green Tea SmoothieEnjoy this FABULOUSLY REFRESHING Matcha Green Tea Smoothie


  • ½ cup spinach
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 1 tsp match green tea powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • Juice from ½ a lime
  • 1 tsp honey, I love local honey or Manuka honey
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp.  flax seeds



Blend in your blender until smoothie! Enjoy
